National Sugar Marketing LLC is seeking a Sustainability Coordinator in Atlanta, GA The Sustainability Coordinator works in close cooperation with the NSM Member Companies and NSM’s customers to develop, propose and implement a comprehensive and consistent set of sustainability programs. This position is the primary point of contact on all sustainability matters between and amongst the Member Companies and NSM’s customers, ensuring that sustainability development and reporting functions are satisfied in a thorough and professional manner.

The Sustainability Coordinator is responsible to develop and manage collaborative relationships within and amongst the Member Companies and the sustainability community, and lead NSM’s engagement on key sustainability policy issues; develop or execute strategies to address issues such as energy use, resource conservation, recycling, pollution reduction, waste elimination, transportation, education, and building design. This position also researches environmental sustainability issues, concerns, or stakeholder interests; and act as the sustainability subject matter expert in support of sales engagements with NSM’s customers. The Sustainability Coordinator is the interface with NSM’s Member Companies and their sustainability programs to form a cohesive sustainability program across the NSM platform.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage marketing materials on the sustainability practices of NSM and its Member Companies.

• Develop sustainability reports, presentations, or proposals for Member Companies, customer, employee, media, government, public interest, or other groups

• Represent NSM and its Member Companies at conferences and other targeted thought leadership events.

• Support customer sustainability reporting efforts.

• Responsible for monitoring trends in environmental science, renewable resources, sustainable work processes and other diverse fields.

• Work toward ensuring that NSM and its Member Companies can continue to treat their refined sugar products as fungible and interchangeable.

• Performs other related duties as required.

Job Requirements

• Bachelors or Graduate degree in environmental science, sustainability or related field;
• Five (5) years professional experience;
• Experience in corporate sustainability reporting and carbon accounting;
• Familiarity with carbon accounting standards and experience working with standard-setting organizations to help define appropriate measurement and reporting protocols.
