The Amalgamated Sugar Company LLC is seeking a Manager of Maintenance and Reliability to help create a strategic direction and plan for maintenance and reliability operations with a Continuous Improvement (CI) focus. Champion and administer the maintenance and reliability plan for the company in a cost-effective manner, promoting best practices across all facilities, and identify specific & measurable indicators to assure high mechanical reliability.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and champion a continuous improvement focused comprehensive maintenance and reliability program to include assets such as the JDE Capital Asset Management (CAM) system.

• Develop, implement, and monitor KPI’s for the maintenance and reliability program.

• Works with Plant Managers, Facilities Managers, and Maintenance Engineers to develop best work practices, maintenance practices, and identify training requirements and programs.

• Helps schedule Critical Maintenance downtime.

• Recommends best maintenance crewing.

• Works with the Plant and Facilities Managers to develop budgets and extra ordinary projects; Approves budgets and extra-ordinary projects.

• Work with Facilities and Procurement to standardize parts and equipment across factories and leverage volume purchases.

• Develop and lead continuous cost containment and reduction strategies pertaining to maintenance and reliability efforts.

• Conducts regulator and insurance maintenance audits (examples: NBIC, Hartford, FM Global, NFPA, SMETA, etc.).

• Oversees regulatory programs: “R” Stamp (Pressure Vessel Code) Program, PRV Testing & Inspection, Arc Flash, etc.

• Reviews Sustaining Capital Projects with Director of Engineering.

• Review and approve Critical contingency spare parts for the factories.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
• B.S. degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Strong maintenance background focused on efficient and effective maintenance and reliability processes.
• Demonstrated experience in a continuous improvement program, Six-Sigma Black Belt or related certification preferred.
• Familiar and experience with Integrated Business Systems; Oracle JDE preferred.
• OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
