Mechanical Technician
Amalgamated Research LLC – Twin Falls, Idaho.

Amalgamated Research LLC (ARi) is seeking a Mechanical Technician to provide mechanical support for fluid handling systems assembly and testing, parts fabrication, pilot and demonstration size skid assembly, and performing quality control inspections. Facility, equipment and tool maintenance are also required. Experience in operating shop tools and general carpentry is required. Experience in the following areas is desired: Forklift operation, HVAC repair, piping (air/water/sewer/steam/chemical) installation & repair, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.

This role actively directs and monitors contractors for facility maintenance and interacts with customer inspectors as needed. Occasional travel in the USA and to foreign countries is required to assist and/or supervise equipment systems and parts installations.

• Operating and maintenance of hydraulic presses with electrically heated platens.

• Assembly of custom designed fluid handling systems

• Collaboratively investigate, specify and assist in procuring appropriate materials of construction as needed through all phases of equipment and systems fabrication.

• Develop solutions and implement repairs related to parts returns.

• Maintain library of O & M manuals for all equipment and buildings.

• Responsible for the design, construction and proper documentation of domestic and overseas shipping containers.

• Assist QA/QC department as needed to inspect and monitor system and parts fabrication (in-house and contracted).

• Meet assigned project deadlines, performance criteria and fabrication according to appropriate codes and standards.

• Keep work areas clean and organized.

• Flexibility to work on multiple projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Associate degree or higher is required in a related field according to essential job functions OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on mechanical experience.
• Experience desired in operating tools and machinery such as lathe, drill presses, all types of saws, cutting and welding, and other tools required for equipment fabrication.
• Ability to work and contribute in a collaborative team environment.
