The Amalgamated Sugar Company LLC – Nampa, ID

The Amalgamated Sugar Company LLC is seeking a Controls Supervisor for our Nampa factory. This Supervisor, under the direct supervision of the Plant Facility Manager, is responsible for the instrumentation and controls equipment for the factory.

• Must have sufficient knowledge and experience of the Factory process and equipment to effectively supervise the operations and maintenance of the factory and equipment.

• Provide direct supervision to instrument and controls technicians in support of factory operations.

• Responsible for training and maintaining an efficient crew, which includes providing training to station operators, establishing proper job procedures and enforcing company safety policies and practices.

• Responsible for crew safety training, certifications and equipment licensing to include the safe operation of all equipment and rolling stock.

• Responsible for preparing budgets for assigned maintenance accounts, plans and directs work and is responsible for overall condition of those accounts.

• Develop and manages extra-ordinary budgets and proper account allocation.

• Responsible for new equipment installation and commissioning.

• Has direct authority of operations in absence of management.

• Resolve issues with outside agencies (Fire, Police, News Media, Utilities, Idaho Department of Environmental Quality, Food and Drug Administration, and EPA) in absence of management.

• Responsible for sugar, pulp and dried pulp quality control.

• Accountable for all personnel time and vacation allocations.

• Responsible for communicating with other shift supervisors.

• Supervise the progressive discipline process in areas of counseling, oral and written warnings; ensures a productive labor climate in the factory operation.

• Responsible for the safety of employees under his/her supervision and for the safe operation of all machinery, equipment, and testing procedures used by those employees. Cooperates with the District Safety Manager in educating and enforcing the rules of safe working practices.

• Communicate orally and in writing. Ability to read and understand oral and written policies, safety and environmental requirements, and other company policies.

• Perform other related duties as required.

Job Requirements

• Completion of high school;
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in Factory operations and supervision;
• OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities..
