The Amalgamated Sugar Company LLC is seeking a Corporate Environmental Engineer at our Corporate Office in Boise, ID. This position will complete professional assignments to ensure that Company operations follow applicable regulations, protective of public health, public welfare and conducted in accordance with the Company Environmental Policy.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Provide environmental engineering technical support to ensure the company follows all air quality, water quality, solids, waste management and any other applicable environmental regulations.

• Prepare and evaluate technical documentation for facility environmental permitting requirements to ensure regulatory compliance (i.e., construction and operating permit applications and permit compliance conditions including monitoring data, record keeping and reporting requirements).

• Prepare technical memorandums and reports in support of environmental compliance efforts.

• Conduct periodic site visits and audits to ensure facility operations follow all applicable permit and/or regulatory requirements.

• Assist with the design, evaluation and recommendation of environmental improvement projects for process operations and pollution control equipment. Assist with prioritizing these projects considering the overall costs and actual environmental benefits.

• Assist with evaluation of new environmental control technologies and communicates findings to corporate and facility management personnel.

• Assist with monitoring environmental programs for the Company to ensure conformance with Corporate Environment Policy.

• Perform and make presentations regarding environmental actives to corporate and factory personnel, industrial organizations, environmental groups and the public.

• Assist the operations department in the development and evaluation for environmental maintenance budget for each facility.

• Conduct mathematical modeling of environmental impacts for facility operations utilizing regulatory guidance documents and provides written interpretive results.

• Perform other business-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (e.g. Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, etc.) is required, advanced degree is highly desirable;
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience and working knowledge of production, process engineering, and manufacturing;
• OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
