The Amalgamated Sugar Company LLC is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to coordinate and supervise the work of maintenance and repair crews to maintain operations and the upkeep of controls and instrumentation systems, network, and related control system equipment. This position supervises and manage the instrument and control group at the facility. This is an exempt, salary position that reports to the Plant Facilities Manager.
Successful candidates must have enough knowledge and experience of industrial process control systems to effectively supervise the operations and maintenance of the factory and control systems. This position is responsible for training and maintaining an efficient crew, planning and directing work, establishing proper job procedures, maintaining proper certifications and licensing for their crew, and enforcing the company policies, procedures, practices, and initiatives.

This person will be responsible for developing and evaluating control systems support of capital improvement projects. The person will be responsible for developing and executing construction schedules to support maintenance and capital project implementation.

This position is also responsible for preparing accurate budgets for assigned maintenance accounts, the overall condition of those accounts as well as developing and managing extra-ordinary budgets and proper account allocations. This position will be required to use computer programs to effectively perform their work duties. These could include: JDE CAM, Kronos, Microsoft programs, etc.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma and a minimum 5 years of experience in factory maintenance and supervision; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Experience with control systems; especially Rockwell, ABB and similar systems.
• Must be able to read, comprehend, develop, and apply Process and Instrumentation drawing and engineering calculations for proper sizing of control equipment.
• Extensive knowledge of factory equipment, procedures and operations a plus
• Considerable knowledge in employee supervision.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Control Engineering a plus.
