The Amalgamated Sugar Company LLC is seeking an Assistant Factory Accounting Manager to assist in the management of the accounting function of Amalgamated factory operations for our Mini-Cassia plant in Paul, ID, including: preparing of general ledger entries, preparing analytic operating reports for management of both plant and agriculture departments. Assist in analyzing operational variations from standard costs and accounting for fixed asset additions and retirements. Oversee the processing of invoices through Accounts Payable, as well as managing hourly employee timecards.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist with establishing and maintaining the organization’s plant accounting practices, processes, procedures, and initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Maintain integrity of plant general ledger with regards to GAAP.

• Responsible for monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Supervise, develop and mentor staff with a focus on growth and process engagement.

• Educate, train and update plant staff of all levels on site performance opportunities.

• Partner, influence and provide proactive consultation and solutions to senior management.

• Manage multiple projects that result in on time completion using analytical methodology.

• Resolve problems with strong sense of urgency.

• Conducts audits, studies and analysis of accounting records and furnishes information to all departments as required.

• Schedule and assign workloads to office personnel.

• Performs other related duties as required.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Accounting/Finance required;
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in an accounting leadership role;
• Minimum one (1) year of people management experience required.
• Costing and/or inventory control experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Oracle experience preferred.
• High proficiency with Excel tools such as Vlookups and PivotTable experience required.
