Job Description

The Amalgamated Sugar Company LLC is seeking a Workers Comp and Safety Clerk to provide administrative and technical assistance to the District Safety Manager.

More specifically, the Workers Comp and Safety Clerk will maintain safety files for all locations, within the district, in line with company policies and government regulations as well as maintain paperwork submitted for workers compensation, safety and safety programs. This will include, but is not limited to, accident reports, doctor’s releases and changes to employee safety files.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Direct inquiries from safety information to the appropriate person overseeing that particular area.
• Answer incoming phone calls as they pertain to safety and general related questions.
• Communicates orally and in writing. Read and understand oral and written policies, safety and environmental requirements, and other company policies.
• Maintains OSHA 300 log.
• Participate in department meetings and special projects.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Job Requirements


• Completion of high school;
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in safety and manufacturing environment;
• OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Considerable knowledge of all safety related administration.
• Considerable knowledge of standard safety practices.
• Skill in the use of computer and related office technology.
• Ability to organize multiple files, documents and records efficiently and orderly.
• Ability to read and understand basic instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret safety information & placards.
