Job Description

The Amalgamated Sugar Company LLC is seeking a Product Manager for Specialty Products. This position will manage both raw and finished warehouse inventories so that orders are fulfilled in a timely manner, accept, validate/confirm and distribute purchase orders for specialty by-products so that production load/shipping and product delivery dates are met.

More specifically, the Product Manager will coordinate production scheduling, inventory levels, shipping/freight logistics, and product registrations for specialty by-products (including, but not limited to Betaine and Nu-Betaine), manage specialty by-product customer service, shipping, sales documentation and coordinate with logistics and marketing partnerships so that contractual obligations are fulfilled.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with factory operations so that production is scheduled to ensure availability of product for shipping to customer/end users in a timely fashion.
• Prioritize orders based on raw product availability so that contractual obligations are met.
• Work with freight forwarding/logistics contractor for inland freight, ocean bookings, and goods reservations so that contractual obligations are met.
• Work with purchasing department so that required product packaging inventory (shipping pallets, bags, supersack totes, etc.) needs are met.
• Facilitate domestic and international product registration for Betaine products (duly signed documents and affidavits from TASCO, various governmental agencies, State of Idaho Department of Agriculture, U.S. State department, Customs, and individual country consulates) to satisfy specific product registration and goods entry requirements.
• Work with SQF on internal product quality management system (FAMI-QS Feed quality standards), and associated factory and site audits so that quality standards are met.
• Assist in negotiation of partnership agreements.
• Travel periodically, both domestically and internationally, so that production is effectively coordinated with both the marketing partnership and customers/end users.
• Communicates with marketing partnership and customers to resolve any product quality concerns, complaints, or customer service related issues.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred;
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in Logistics/Marketing;
• Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
