Human Resources Assistant

The Amalgamated Sugar Company LLC is seeking a Human Resources Assistant. This position supports the HR team with a wide variety of functions relevant to sourcing, onboarding and benefits.

The Human Resources Assistant maintains the day-to-day sourcing, interviewing and onboarding process for all hourly employees, enters applicant data into HRIS, creates employee files and answers employee questions as they relate to the new hire/rehire process. This position will also act a back up to other positions within the department as needed.

Additionally, this position performs a variety of tasks from normal correspondence to highly confidential reports ensuring timelines, accuracy and confidential handling of sensitive matters as well as assisting with the preparation of company-wide HR related documents. This position is responsible for the collection and distribution of a variety of reports as well as compiling of information for the department.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper procedures are followed during the sourcing and onboarding process.

• Provide all required forms and ensure their completion in a timely manner.

• Maintain current employee files both electronically and manually. This includes data input and filing of all employee correspondence that comes through the department.

• Keep management advised of potential problem areas and recommends/implements solutions as appropriate.

• Make necessary arrangements and preparations for various meetings.

• Edit and proofread company policies & procedures and related documents as needed.

• Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent is required;
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources;
• OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
