National Sugar Marketing LLC is seeking a Logistics Coordinator in Atlanta, GA. This position facilitates the process of product movement from NSM ship points to customers throughout the delivery network. The role fulfills logistical requirements coordinating shipments with freight carriers and in coordination with customer service, supply chain planning and operational peers. The incumbent is responsible for resolving issues pertaining to product transportation in addition to ensuring product movements are deployed with the most cost-effective methods.

The Logistics Coordinator assists in the formation of logistical strategies, budgets, transportation partnerships and key cost reduction initiatives. This position maintains an in-depth knowledge of transportation resources, network operating parameters and the nuances of customer delivery requirements. The Logistics Coordinator facilitates and monitors the daily movement of products, coordinates shipments with freight carriers, origin points and customer service representatives to ensure on time delivery.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Organize workload and prioritize daily tasks with an attention to detail proactively bringing forward solutions to achieve service and transportation cost goals.

• Provide oversight for the accuracy and payment of freight invoices and initiate and resolve carrier claims on a timely basis.

• Communicate clearly and professionally with peers, ship points, transportation providers and customers to ensure error free delivery

• Act as a Logistics resource for cross functional project groups and other activities as assigned.
Provide backup for the Logistics Manager and fill department needs during times of peak shipment activity.

Job Requirements

• Two-year Associate Degree with an emphasis in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations or Business or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
• Four years of progressive work experience in a transportation or supply chain environment.
• Understanding of transportation, supply chain, production planning and manufacturing in a food grade environment is a plus.
• Has a solid track record of successful Logistics experience with demonstrated examples of using transport management systems, rail and truck interface and building sustainable relationships with third party providers.
